A lot of people have anxiety and stress. Developing a positive outlook could be a way to overcome the anxiety. Defeating anxiety could also help in your self confidence. Positive affirmations and changing the way you think may not work for everyone, but it is worth the effort to attempt this method.

Self confidence and how you think of yourself usually takes a beating when you are under stress and having anxiety. Telling yourself that you can’t do something or that you just are not good enough certainly causes anxiety. Change the way you talk to yourself and be more positive (yes, it does take work) and it will change your attitude and reduce stress and therefore anxiety. Give yourself credit for your good qualities and reinforce those thoughts on a daily basis and you will be on the road to eliminating anxiety in your life and clearing up those issues that caused the anxiety.

Create a new way of looking at yourself and your life every day through different methods of positive thinking. One of the best ways to do this is to have other positive people in your life. Being around these people will stop your thought process when these self defeating attitudes creep in. Their positive attitude will eventually rub off on you. There are things you like about you whether you believe it or not. Start a list. Are you a decent person? Are you kind? Anytime those nasty thoughts start creeping in, refer to that list. Doing this on a regular basis will increase your confidence and allow you to try new things.

Self induced stress can be one of the biggest causes of anxiety. Letting the negative thoughts take over your thinking can be overwhelming. Learning to control your thinking and cultivating positive thoughts can lower stress levels. Less stress means more ability to deal with problems. Try breaking down your problems into manageable parts. One step at a time is easier to manage and less likely to induce anxiety. Keep in mind that there are some things you simply have no control over so you have to focus on positive aspects of that situation. Trying to control the uncontrollable will make you nuts and wastes time you cannot get back.
