God has laid the burden of this subject upon my heart and therefore I have the duty to tell it like it is. I know, people like glad tidings because they are easy to accept. This message is a warning which is to say, “Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it!” If you heed this, it will be the best tidings you will ever hear.
During this time of year, people are consumed with spending money for the latest toy on the market. If you think about it, these things are used to distract us with noise and “have to have” appearances. We have become a country of idolaters, serving the almighty dollar and the power it gives. Families rarely spend an evening meal around the table to give thanks to the Lord and talk about their lives. It’s rush here, rush there, no time for the really important things such as God and our families. So as a result, family time of prayer, and worship are being ushered out the door, no one takes notice. Why? Because it wasn’t a priority in the first place. People soon adapt to the new ways of society. Families are led to believe that God and worship time together is old fashioned. After all, who has time for such nonsense? Before we realize, Christian values and morals are replaced with “political correctness”. Heaven forbid that anyone be offended, unless you are a Christian, then that is fine. We’re not suppose to get offended by persecution anyway.
Our apathetic, complacent attitudes must make us look like baby birds sitting in the nest with our mouths wide open. We are willing to eat whatever is put in front of us. If it’s to accept the removal of Christ from Christmas then who cares? Just feed us something! It’s ok by many, because it satisfies them. Do we consider that God really does care? And that He is watching our every move? Not just as individuals, but as a country and a world as a whole? Does anyone really care what God thinks? Therein lies the problem. Unless we get our heads out of the sand, we will start caring a whole lot more when God gives us exactly what we’ve asked for!
What do I mean by this? When you become intimate with the Heavenly Father, you will also realize that He is a whole lot more than just LOVE! He is JEALOUS, He is a CONSUMING FIRE, He is a WARRIOR, just to name some of the many facets of the character of God. God has feelings, and He will react to them, the same way we would. After all, we are made in His image. But the difference between us and God is that His reactions are righteous and holy. Ours are corrupt. Unless we do know God and become transformed by His Spirit, it makes perfect sense that we wouldn’t understand how He must feel about our behavior as we cast His Son away from the true meaning of Christmas. This also IS the true meaning for the foundation of our very country! In my last article ‘Where Is Peace on Earth?’, I mentioned the radical Islamic plot to take over this country and any other God fearing land, including Israel. If you look around and listen, you can’t deny that it’s well on the way to being accomplished. Listen carefully beloved, this is not a joke…it’s for real, it’s alive and well in the USA.
I also realize that there are many Christians who will say, “God is in control and it will all work out the way He has predestined.” I agree whole heartedly. But we tend to over look one thing. God hears prayers of the righteous people and we know that the prayers of the righteous avail much. Do we honestly believe that God answers our prayers or not? Do we really believe that sitting idly by and watching our country be taken under siege by non Christian terroristic groups is what God wants? Are we ready to give up our freedom of religion and speech and pay homage to a false god of another religion and culture? I pray not. So here’s the point I’m trying to make. Do you believe that God will be here to get us out of a jam when we agreed to forego serving Him? God gave disobedient people just what they asked for in the past, and He will do it again.
His Word gives us a road map through life. It was the same in Bible days as it is today. In the book of Judges for example, the people insisted on doing their own thing, (much like now) so God pulled back and gave them what they wished for. Without His guidance, Israel came under oppression from many wicked, and evil kings. In the book of 2 Kings it describes why Israel fell. Chapter 17 tells how they disobeyed God and turned from His commandments. They served their own gods. God warned them through the prophets. He is warning us still! What is He saying?
“Yet the Lord warned Israel and Judah through all His prophets and every seer saying, ‘Turn from your evil ways and keep My commandments, My statutes according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you through My servants the prophets.” 2 Kings 17:13
The warning remains in effect for us today. It’s time to repent and turn to Christ in order to live. God wishes that no one be ignorant to this one truth. This will result in death…spiritual separation for eternity.
But we are gearing up for a presidential election this coming year. Among the fore runners, we have a liberal left wing woman, a black man who denies being Muslim but was sworn into office on the Koran, we have a Mormon who believes his faith won’t effect his leadership should he get in, and we have a man of professed Christian faith trying to convince a country who is basically a Christian minority that he is the best choice. I honesty believe that God will allow whoever He chooses to be elected according to our reaction to Him. Will we sit back and just allow this country to fall into the hands of a fascist Islamic regime, or will we turn to the One true God and ask Him to forgive our wicked behavior?
The foundation of our country which was the family that worshiped together is no longer intact. As the family crumbles, the Church naturally collapses. When the Church collapses, then it’s obvious that the next to go is the country. It’s a rippling effect that will spell out disaster…unless we turn back to God! What a concept that is.
As God’s children repeatedly disobeyed Him, He let them fall into the hands of their enemies. Why should we think differently? He will not only give us what we ask for in disobedience, but He will also give us what we pray for. God can change His mind and still work things out as He ordered from the beginning of creation. The choice is ours. We can either be like Joshua and say, “…as for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord,” or we can be like the children spoken of in Jeremiah who replied, “we will not listen.” For this, God declared disaster on them. What could be more disastrous than to be given into the hands of our enemies? It is a very real scenario!
What then are we to do? Here it is, straight from God. He gives us the freedom to choose when we see an “IF-THEN” clause written in His Word. Read this verse carefully and notice IF we do what’s right, THEN God will move on our behalf.
“IF…My people who are called by My name HUMBLE themselves PRAY and SEEK My face and TURN from their wicked ways, THEN…I WILL HEAR from heaven, WILL FORGIVE their sin and WILL HEAL their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
It requires our humbleness, our prayers, our longing for God, and our repentance. Are we willing to do these? If you have not yet done this, today is the day. First admit to God that you are a sinner. Ask Him to forgive you. Secondly, confess that you believe that Christ came to lead and guide you into all truth. If you accept Christ in your heart as your Savior, then thank the Lord for the gift of eternal life. Now that’s a gift!!!
The hinge of history hangs on the door of a Bethlehem stable.
