From the moment that we arrive on the earth our minds are absorbing thoughts like a sponge absorbs water. The problem is that in our early years we have no control over the thoughts that our minds are absorbing. As we grow older the gate keeper to our subconscious mind arrives and stands guard. The problem is that much of the damage has already been done.
Many people have no clue that their subconscious minds were being formed prior to them having any knowledge of what was going in. Parents, friends, family, and the rest of society were unknowingly widdling away at our perception of the future. People believe only what they can see, and they cannot see thought, so therefore it must not be. People begin seeing themselves as damaged, when in reality only their thoughts have been damaged.
In this part one of this series we will explore the power of our subconscious minds in controlling and influencing our work and non-work hours.
I was sitting at the beach one Monday evening watching the sunset with my wife. As I looked around I noticed that virtually all of the people who were watching the sunset were on vacation. This bothered me; I asked myself “Why do they have to be on vacation to enjoy a sunset?” Most of these people would be returning to their campers or hotels and going to sleep at exactly the same time they would on a typical work night. They also would get out of bed at roughly the same time that they would during the work week. As I pondered the notion, I realized that once again the subconscious mind was up to its trickery.
Early on both society and our parents began shaping our views of ” Work time” and “Play time”. Think back to your childhood how many time did you here “Daddy can not play tonight it’s a school night”. Our parents said it because their parents said it. I have decided to try to live everyday like a Saturday. I will be the first to tell you that it is not an easy battle. Every night my subconscious and I go to war, sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. Every victory brings me one step closer to mental freedom.
