Societies and human civilizations will always have leaders and followers. But how many of each is the proper number? How many sheople can a society take before it crumbles? More importantly how many creative Geniuses does a society really need? Some say one, some say less than one, others wish to give percentages. It depends on where you stand in the hierarchy as to what you will allow in your belief system. I think it is time to wake some people up.
I believe we need more creative geniuses and free-thinkers and less sheople. What happens if we stifle all the free-thinkers and creative geniuses? Well, probably eventual collapse, loss of all. Should we instead look for some formula, balancing point or Best Management number?
Well, I suppose that it depends on the society and civilization, yes all current human civilization structures seem to have such points. Other species do too, there seems to be a genetic mechanism with the density of species, which also interacts with individualism and socialization - from locusts to elk, and from rats to humans, and from fish to birds. Why does the US have so many creative geniuses? Why does innovation run so high? Is it the competitive aspects, the freedom or the free-markets or is it just a good combo that works?
Ha! Well indeed, yes, I am happy to live here. The US could do much better of course, if it did not live the lie that Adam Smith warned us about, or the issues Karl Marx used to lambast capitalism. All in all things are pretty good, but we can always do better, we can always become more efficient and more honest with ourselves, still you cannot deny that the US is the greatest nation ever created in all of human history.
We need free markets, less corruption from government at the hands of those who put up barriers for protection. Mostly due to weakness in their own business models, which in the end such barriers make them weaker and it simultaneously pushes down the very innovation and productivity we claim to care about. No government or nation is perfect; all need to concentrate on a progression towards that. It does not mean more laws, regulations or confinement, rather it means more streamlining, efficiency and refinement.
They say that necessity is the mother of invention, thus it is a necessity of survival in a competitive environment, too, opportunity must be the father of invention and in the US you have lots of opportunity. I wouldn’t trade it for the World. Sincerely, Lance.
