So, my fellow blue-collar worker, you are really considering making some changes in your life. At this point you must really be determined to do so or you wouldn’t be reading this article. Before you read any further, keep in mind that the determination and resolve that you presently have should be kept at this level. Stay super determined and motivated and you will never fall short of your goals.
As a manual laborer, what you really want to know is how do you make those changes and have them become lasting ones. Or maybe you are thinking that you are so tired after work, how do you find the time. Read on for some super tips.
You really gotta want it. Did you ever tell yourself something like, “I have to exercise more”, but never really do something about it? There is a really good chance that something is more important to you. The next time you tell yourself something like this, ask yourself how badly you want to achieve this goal. If you want it badly enough to make some sacrifices in your current lifestyle, then by all means go for it.
Hourly wage earners, such as blue collar workers can get so tired of the rut they are in they can set unrealistic goals for themselves. Determined and anxious to make a change in their lives, they are susceptible to setting their goals too high. For instance, if you want to get in better shape and decide to lift some weights, don’t expect to compete in a Mr. Universe competition within a year. Set smaller goals within reason, pace yourself and devise a step-by-step plan. Do this by educating yourself to see what is necessary to turn your goal into a reality.
Do not procrastinate. Putting things off until the right time, or until the opportunity arises is really counter productive. If you wait to start something, you know as well as I do that the right time will never come. If you have something to accomplish, start now and stop making excuses.
Any failures you have experienced should be considered a form of learning. If you should fail at any task there is no sense in getting over emotional and beating yourself up about it. Look at it as a learning experience and continue on with the knowledge you have acquired. And by all means, learn how to forgive yourself.
Realize that change is a good thing. Change is necessary for growth. It can be frightening, not only for you, but also for those around you who are accustomed to you being a certain way. Give others around you time to adjust to the changes you are facing and be patient with them.
It should be a good time to share with them the changes and goals you are working on. Perhaps they will give you the support you may need, encouraging and motivating you towards the positive changes in your life.
