A story is told about a very successful executive planning a business trip to Detroit. The plan was to have face to face meetings with an influential client to further the company’s goals. Tickets were purchased, car rented, hotel booked, meetings scheduled and times confirmed. On the morning of the meetings the executive took the pre-ordered map out of the glove department and began to map out his route (obviously pre-GPS times). Try as he might he could not find his destination, streets were wrong, addresses did not correspond and the executive was becoming anxious that not only was he lost but was probably going to be late. The executive pulled the car over and took a short assessment of the situation; the plan was sound, everything was well prepared right down to the map. The executive then looked more closely at the map and laughed out loud; the rental car company had left the wrong map in the glove department it was a street map of Denver not Detroit. There was no way he would get anywhere in Detroit using a map of Denver. The executive pulled into the next gas station, bought a Detroit map, and made his appointment a little frazzled and with just minutes to spare.

While online schools offer students the opportunity to complete an entire degree program online, a growing number of ground schools are allowing students to take online courses for credit in addition to their on-campus classes. Students enroll in online classes for a number of reasons such as convenience, busy schedules, and even the possibility of completing a degree program faster.

University of Iowa sophomore Kate Stoffer is one such student who takes online courses in addition to the classes that she takes on-campus. Last summer, Stoffer completed and received credit for two courses online while she was away on a church mission trip. Online classes help students work toward achieving their degree in situations like these, where a traditional classroom setting is not possible.

With a little planning and research, you can make the transition easier for you, you family, and your employer.

While there is always a lot of debate as to whether an online college education is as good as a traditional college education, the answer is really very simple; there are good institutions that offer an online college education and there are bad establishments that offer an online college education. The same holds true for traditional college degree programs.

So, just as when you are looking for an offline course, you need to do the same kind of your research when you are looking for the best place to pursue an online college education.

Online Education

Of course, you normally won’t care where the college is located unless part of the online program involves off-line meetings. Usually the physical location just doesn’t matter. However, a lot of the other points that you would consider before attending a traditional offline college or university should also be considered before you enroll with any organization offering an online college education.

Making financial aid work for you can seem like a complicated process. However, it’s a process that’s absolutely worth your time and effort. Like most things in life, the amount you get back is only worth how much time you’re willing to put into it. The more dedication you have to this cause, the better you’ll feel when it comes time to find out what financial assistance you’ve been awarded.

There really isn’t anything quite like looking at your bank account the minute after you deposit the money you’ve received from financial aid. You literally feel the burden you’ve been carrying lift off of your shoulders. That money covers tuition, lab fees, the outrageous cost of textbooks and even any supplies you need. That money can be an absolute lifesaver, especially when you feel like you’re at the end of your rope.

In a world where change is the only constant, it may be frustrating to try and keep up with it all. When choosing career options, how does one know which will lead to a successful and profitable future? The world of academe struggles with these same sorts of questions, but offers some answers. Consider carefully, then, possible modern academic programs.

The institutions that go to create our educational arenas have a long and storied past. Some of that past is relegated to history, but some of it created the future as we experience it today. Academia struggles to keep recreating itself in response to the radical changes it not only lives through, but also has helped create. It is a fine place in which to prepare for your future now.

I'd defy anyone to turn down the opportunity to learn more about the other sex, and be able to use relationship advice with ease, as well as provide it to their close friends and relatives to good effect.

This would be possible with a hypothetical 'relationship degree' at a university – but what would this imaginary degree look like? If professors were to teach people how to manage relationships, how to make up with their ex's, how to attract a partner into their life – what lessons would they teach in their restricted number of lectures?

This is an interesting question, and one I'd like to explore in the following article. Obviously, relationship advice is a very subjective topic and as such, the results here are only my own opinion. I'm sure everyone else's relationship leadership degree would look slightly different!

The United Kingdom is one of the most popular study destinations for foreign students. Every year the number of international students coming to the country to study is rapidly and constantly increasing, and that is not very surprising. Through the years, many UK-based universities have been successfully increasing their reputation so that they would be more recognized throughout the globe.

With numerous foreign students enrolling in major UK universities, there are many exposed problems and setbacks. Since the UK is a modern and western country, foreign students especially from Asia and Africa are finding it hard to initially cope and adjust to the prevailing culture and many foreign students do not last the stay of their studying course in the UK due to culture shock. However, those students should have striven to do better, as the UK will not (and shouldn't really) adjust to accommodate them. They should assert themselves to cope up with the British environment and norms.
