Do you know that your thoughts shape your reality?
What goes in your mind has the power to shape your entire present and future.
That is why it is very important that you take care of the ideas that you feed your mind with.
The quality of your life is shaped by the quality of your thoughts.
But how do your thoughts get shaped? There are unlimited factors that shape your thoughts.
One of the most powerful ways to control the quality of your thoughts is by reading high quality books.
In this hurly-burly world, it can be so easy to get caught up in the minute details and miss the bigger picture. Too many times, we find ourselves focusing on things that we really don’t care about and missing out on things that are important to us. How do we keep our eyes on what really matters? We prioritize.
Instead of making up a to-do list or a list of goals, why not make up a priority list? Not for the day, the week, or the month, but one for the year. Write down the things that matter the most to you, and then organize them from most to least important.
An interesting phenomenon is that of someone who enjoys goal setting but shies away from charting their progress. In my coaching experience the clients who regularly take a reality check on where they are with their goals, have an advantage of being able to adjust their approach based on relevant and up-to-date feedback. This article takes a look at how a goal setting chart can be an effective structure in moving you productively toward your goal.
So many of us wander through life thinking we have everything together. I have a fool proof way to see if you really do have it together. You will be able to tell with one question.
Are you successful with money?
I don’t mean are you wealthy beyond belief. I’m talking about are you drowning in debt? (You may be and not even know it.) A good way to tell if you are in over your head is to list all your debts in a column and then all your assets and/or things that actually go up in value (like a house or an investment) in another column.
You can always be successful in your job, in achieving your goals only when you are optimistic. You may ask, what do I mean by “Be Optimistic”? By being optimistic, I mean to be positive, think positive. You should always have a positive bent of mind in any work that you do. Because a positive bent of mind inculcates positive feelings within you to achieve your goal. With the positive feelings, our willpower increases to do the job perfectly.
Let us understand this by taking an example of how to be optimistic, a positive thinker.
In 2004 a fabulous film was released titled “The Butterfly Effect”, starring Ashton Kutcher and Amy Smart. The film centres around several characters whose lives are incredibly affected because one man can travel back in time. At time during his college years the main character discovers that he has the ability to travel back in time just by reading his diary entries.
You see, there are two kinds of fear in the world, good and bad.
Good fear comes from the logical mind, and is often called discernment. Good fear prevents us from walking out into heavy traffic or making other foolish decisions.
Bad fear can prevent good things from happening. Bad fear comes from the inner mind.
Have you ever feared being alone, failing in business, or not achieving your dreams?
The quickest way from point A (where you are now) to point B (where you want to be, your goal or dream) is in a straight line.
And the most efficient way to stay on the straight line is to focus your energy, and attention, and to practice a consistent set of actions.
What that means, is you choose thoughts, feelings, and actions that will move you closer to that goal.
